Residential Driver

 

NewTerra Compost, LLC is growing in the greater Chattanooga area. Based out of Wildwood GA, the company is looking to bring on a new team member that is interested in diverting food residuals from the landfill. This position will be part of the pickup and composting operations. Applicants do not need any prior experience in composting, but do need to have the desire to learn more and become an ambassador for sustainability and composting. 

 

Duty Description: 

  • Operate company vehicles around Hamilton and Dade county. 

  • Pickup, dump, and clean five gallon buckets of food residuals.

  • Use hand held electronic devices to navigate routes, take notes, document pickups, and complete reports. 

  • Communicate to customers and the public the purpose behind composting food residuals. 

  • Operate a tractor for compost operations. 

  • Help as needed with additional jobs at the compost site.

  • Positive and team mentality. 

 

Essential functions and requirements: 

  • Able and willing to work with food scraps. 

  • Able to maintain a clean driving record and motor vehicle license.

  • Able to pass drug screening and periodic testing. 

  • Able to work outside in all conditions

  • Able to follow safety and process procedures. 

  • Able to work alone and unsupervised. 

  • Reliable transportation to get to the site. 

  • Reliable and consistent attendance.

 

 Big Plus: 

  • Knowledgeable about composting and the benefits of compost to our community. 

  • Experience operating a tractor.

 

Hours: 

  • 3x 8 hour days; increasing with company growth 

  • Part time position, but ability to make this a full time position if you are interested in an Event Specialist position.

Event Specialist

 

 NewTerra Compost, LLC is growing in the greater Chattanooga area. Based out of Wildwood GA, the company is looking to bring on a new team member that is interested in diverting food residuals from the landfill. This position will plan and execute events.  Events range from markets, non-profit dinners, festivals, and educational  fairs.  Applicants do not need any prior experience in composting, but do need to have the desire to learn more and become an ambassador for sustainability and composting. If you want to be engaged in the local community, this job is for you.

 

Duty Description: 

  • Communicate with event planners by phone, email, and in person to understand the needs of an event and how waste reduction tools can be implemented.

  • Attend events to set up signage, move collection bins, educate staff members or attendees and cleanup.

  • Prepare quotes.

  • Communicate to customers and the public the purpose behind composting food residuals. 

  • Positive and team mentality.

  • Able to maintain a clean driving record and motor vehicle license.

  • Able to pass drug screening and periodic testing. 

  • Able to work outside in all conditions.

  • Reliable and consistent attendance.

  • Operate a tractor for compost operations. 

  • Help as needed with additional jobs at the compost site.

  • Hours would be flexible and set by events, this role will require nights and weekends.

  • Part time position, but ability to make this a full time position if you are interested in compost operations.
